Julie Hottle Day, a longtime Virginia practitioner, represents parties in family law litigation and small business transactions and litigation. When local business men and women divorce, they turn to Julie for an attorney who can comprehend and resolve the unique issues facing business owners when their marriages dissolve. She prides herself in her reputation as an honest, hardworking attorney who keeps her clients well informed, and believes that a client who is well informed is a client well served.

           

            Ms. Day has been an active member of the Virginia State Bar since 1991. She has conducted litigation in the Virginia counties of Fairfax, Arlington, Loudoun, Prince William, Fauquier, Culpeper and Orange and argued appeals to the Virginia Court of Appeals. She has been admitted to practice in Maryland since 1999 and is also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court.

            Ms. Day is a 1991 graduate of the Washington & Lee University School of law, where she was a member of the Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity. She is a 1988 cum laude graduate of Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. She has lectured and acted as a panelist on the issue of work-life balance for presentations by the National Association of Woman Lawyers and the Virginia State Bar. She is a frequent speaker before local business and interest groups on topics pertaining to divorce and mental health records confidentiality. In 2005, she was recognized by Washingtonian magazine for her diplomatic skills in the area of prenuptial agreement drafting. In 2009, Washingtonian recognized her as one of the top 88 divorce attorneys in the Washington, D.C. area. Julie practices in the firm’s Fairfax City and Warrenton offices.
