David is known for his tenacious pursuit of favorable resolutions for his clients. His hallmark in practice is thorough exploration of available options.
David holds a B.A. from The College of William and Mary and a Juris Doctor from George Mason School of Law. He has been practicing law since January, 1985, and his practice is primarily focused on the areas of civil and criminal trial and appellate litigation in state and federal courts, commercial litigation, arbitration and mediation, contract law and construction defect litigation.
David also represents public school students in administrative disciplinary hearings.
David is a former Magistrate for Arlington County and he taught for 11 years at the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy where, for 10 years, he served as the senior legal instructor for rookie law enforcement officers. He is also an arbitrator on the American Arbitration Association's commercial arbitration and consumer panels.
David served many years on alumni boards at George Mason University, including one year as President of the Law Alumni Chapter and one year as Secretary of the overall Alumni Association. He is also active in the Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce where he sits on the committee overseeing the Chamber's Friday Night Live annual fundraising concert series. David is also an on-site manager for the programs. David has also served twenty-five years as a volunteer-usher at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts. He has also long been active in the Fairfax Bar Association and served two terms as a member of the Board of Directors, including one year as its General Counsel. David has recently been appointed Vice Chairman of the Fairfax Bar Association’s General District Court Committee for the 2010-2011 fiscal year.
David is known for his attention to detail and for his thorough preparation. His reputation as a practitioner has earned him a B-V (high to very high legal ability) Martindale Hubble rating from his peers. David is the author of “The Broad Application of the Therapist-Privilege Statute: Practice in a Post-Schwartz World,” Family Law News, Winter, 2008.
