John Colby Cowherd

           John focuses his law practice on commercial real estate leasing and finance, formation and sale of closely-held businesses, automobile law and civil litigation matters.

           John developed strong analytic reasoning skills in the Great Books liberal arts undergraduate curriculum at Saint John’s College in Annapolis, Maryland. During the 2004-2005 academic year, John worked in the Clinic for Legal Assistance to Servicemembers at George Mason University School of Law in Arlington, Virginia.  Prior to coming to Culin, Sharp, Autry & Day, P.L.C., John worked for seven years in the Washington, D.C. office of a nationally-prominent law firm.

           In keeping with his interest in real estate and housing matters, John performed volunteer construction work with Habitat for Humanity’s St. Tammany West, Louisiana affiliate each spring in 2007-2009.

           John is a native of Culpeper, Virginia and currently lives in Northern Virginia.
